Great gloves. Low bulk so more comfortable on the bars. Good to 5deg C. Cuff stops any drafts around the wrist. Palm grippers do what it says…grip the bar tape .Size XL is true to size. Recommended.

  2. shaoxing98 (verified owner)

Really lightweight and warm – I’m now on my 3rd pair of these gloves, which says more about the amount of use they get than their longevity. Temp. control is very personal but for me these work down to -5 if riding at reasonable tempo.

  3. adrian.wikeley (verified owner)

My first Galibier purhase, and an excellent pair of gloves which I think will last well. Just perfect for the usual winter tempertures in London and South-East England, and a really great fit – the size guide works – which isn’t usually the case with cycling specific kit! I was out for a pre-Christmas 90k ride in Kent yesterday in light rain, and they seem to repel the weather really well. All in all an excellent, good value buy and great service – thank you. The big brands and outlets are so dominant now in this business, that it’s very easy forget that places like Galibier, who provide excellent own brand products designed by cyclists, are providing an A*** service.

Firstly the good points, these are quality gloves, great materials and despite suffering bad circulation these were just about warm enough at 4c, and still wearable at 12c on the same ride. The fit of glove when on is first rate. The downside, getting these on and off is a bit of a nightmare, the cuff is light and there is very little give in materials. I got to stage I didn’t want to remove them. I followed size chart but wonder if I needed to size up? The close fit gives a lot of control and comfort, time will tell if I can live with the effort to take on and off. Gloves are superb in every other way.

Superb gloves. Really warm and versatile. Cover Autumn/Winter/Spring in the UK! I use the Galibier deep Winter Barrier gloves when the temp dips below 4, but these see plenty of use. Snug fit, allows easy finger movement and control of gears/brakes/computer. You won’t regret buying these if you live in the UK.

  6. Raul lopez (verified owner)

Fantastic gloves. Nothing to complain about. Once on there isn’t nagging you, very comfy.
I agree with other reviews in that the range of suitable temperatures is from upwards 5 C° to around 11 C°. For temperatures bellow 5 C° to 0 C° I wear underneath thing merino liners and my hands are toasty.

I went to Machu Picchu when I was 25, and I was so excited about it. I really built it up. When I got there, it was even more impressive than I’d imagined — it blew me away. One of the few times I can remember where I had really high expectations, and then they were surpassed. Now these gloves are not as impressive as Machu Pichhu, but what they do share in common is that when I saw the pictures of them, I thought they looked great, and they are even better that I expected. They’re super slim for how warm they are, and they feel just great. I’ve got a few pairs of gloves that are thicker/bulkier and that keep my fingers less warm than these. Really great gloves, fully recommend.

  8. Rich Gammon (verified owner)

Have had these out in temps where the chill factor has made it feel like -3c and my fingers were still warm, I like them so much I bought a backup pair

  9. Adam (verified owner)

These gloves are perfect for the mild winters in Melbourne. They cover the full gamut from cold, crisp and chilly. Wouldn’t wear above 15 degrees as hands can get a little warm. Order M which fit great. Excellent quality. They are my go to gloves. Also the little head warmer gift was a nice surprise too!

  10. Adrian O’Sullivan (verified owner)

I’ve worn these every ride since October 2020 to [now] March 2021 and they are perfect. Light enough for racing, whenever that appears again. I ordered a second pair for my wife for her running so it’s a 4x from us.

  11. tf

I bought these as a companion to the excellent Barrier gloves for the warmer winter rides. I find these optimal upwards of about 5C. Well made, good fit and feel.

  12. Buyer from Scotland (verified owner)

I bought these to replace an ancient pair of Gore Windstopper gloves I must have had for, oh, 10 years anyway, patched and stitched beyond reason. I’ve tried other gloves as replacements for my ancient Gores but nothing was as good. Until I found these! Perfect fit – although I would say size up if anything – no annoyingly long cuffs or Velcro, just pull them on.
I wore these recently, it was plus 2 degrees with occasional showers of big, sleety snow flakes but my hands felt fine. It was only near the end of my 90 minute ride I was starting to chill at the fingertips but the gloves were starting to wet out so no surprise. They’re not deep winter gloves after all but perfect for most cold or cooler dry days, although they’ll take a good shower and dry out in time. No bulk, no annoying seams and no sweaty palms – my glove search is over!!

  13. Chris Browder (verified owner)

I use these in north-central California, which has relatively mild winters. I rarely cycle in temps less than 45 F (7 C), so these are perfect. I usually wear them at the start of the ride and take them off as the day warms up. I tend towards six plus hour rides, so see a wide range of temperatures. The fit is snug; workpersonship is good; and style is fine. I am happy with my purchase and will look to buy more goods from Galibier.

  14. Guy (verified owner)

Cannot stand wearing bulky gloves on the bike, so these fit the bill perfectly. Realistically, I won’t be risking riding on the road below 2⁰C. Close fitting, low bulk, nice and warm. What more do you need? At this price it’s a no brainer!

  15. Richard Arnold (verified owner)

Have been really impressed with these gloves, my first purchase from Galibier.
The fit is perfect for me and they have proved to provide just the right level of warmth in the New Year rides of early 2021. Have headed out in low single digit temperatures and my hands have not felt cold at all, and that’s with ‘feels like’ figures of just below zero.
They appear very well made and I am sure they will be in my drawer for winter road riding for many years to come,

  16. Martin Newstead (verified owner)

First time using Galibier clothing. They say appearance can be deceiving and these gloves are. Well made with deceptively thin material that withstand the wind and cold. Used this week on half hour commutes to work then a 2 hour ride at weekend at 1 degree temp. Hands stayed warm all ride. Size was spot on as well. The neck warmer was added bonus thank you.

  17. Simon Still

Very dubious when these arrived – they’re barely thicker than a pair of windproof gloves I have. All the gloves that I’ve used in the past that were any good below about 6C have been bulky, with fussy liners and poor control.

Wife and I both wore them for the first time today for an hour or so with the thermometer saying it’s 1C out. Amazed to have warm hands throughout – these are *really* good, and the lack of bulk means they will be superb for mountain biking (which is what I bought them for).

  18. Conor H (verified owner)

As someone who hates wearing gloves cycling and will only give in and wear a pair when my hands go numb these have been excellent. I’ve worn them down to 5-6 degrees and they’ve performed really well, keeping my hands warm but not sweating. They’re also not so thick and bulky as other gloves meaning pockets are still easily accessible.

  19. Glyn Morton (verified owner)

I recently bought a pair of these gloves as I was looking for something to ward off the early morning autumn chill without being too bulky and insulated. Having worn them half a dozen times, I must say they fit the bill perfectly. They have a good level of flex without being loose or baggy. Dexterity is good, as I can operate my bike computer and remove items from my jersey pockets with ease.
The best thing however, is that they do exactly what they’re designed to do – they keep your hands warm (not hot or clammy) and keep your fingers working despite a couple of very cold mornings just lately.
On closer inspection, the quality is excellent, how do Galibier do it at this price?
Delivery is super-fast, and customer service is second to none.

Just one more point – I normally consider myself to have medium sized hands, but the large size fits perfectly.

  20. Gary Cartwright (verified owner)

First purchase from Galibier and very impressed with both these and the Barrier gloves, especially the cuff length to allow for jacket overlap. I was wary of the sizing of these going by other reviews, and usually wear size large gloves from other brands. Measuring my hand circumference at just shy of 22cm I couldn’t decide on the large or XL so bought both. The XL’s fit perfectly and haven’t even tried the larges on as I know they’ll be too small and not allow for the option of glove liners, just need to drop them at the post office to send back. At this price the return postage is negligible, I’ll buy some more at some point and a few other things too going by the quality and thought that’s gone into them.

First item I have purchased from galibier,Impressed, followed size guide ,fit perfect, seem well made and are ideal for spring autumn temperatures and don’t seem to over heat either if it warms up,speedy delivery and good service, I will be a returning customer

  22. paraic mannion (verified owner)

Really good fit / weight and dexterity not really affected. As usual super fast delivery. All in all great product and service as usual, keep up the great work!

  23. Steve W

My wife bought me a pair of these recently. I’ve just got back from a steady 45 km ride in them. 8ºC and dry – but with a high wind chill (feels like 4ºC) – today. Hands stayed nice and toasty for the whole ride with absolutely no wind getting through them at all. The neoprene cuffs got a little damp (but I do sweat quite a lot) and the fingers are just a tad long for my stumpy sausage fingers (although this is not really that noticeable when on the bike). They really are a beautifully made pair of gloves. Palm material feels extremely hard wearing and the silicone grippers very positive on the bars. Have not tried washing them yet, nor cannot comment on their longevity, although the quality of construction suggests they will be my go to gloves for a good while yet.
My hand circumference is exactly 210 mm – so right on the size boundary of medium and large – I have the large which feel spot on to me (I suspect medium would have been a little too small).
Agree that more reflective flashes would be a welcome addition, although it looks like the galibier logo on the little finger is reflective (not tried them in the dark yet).
Another excellent piece of galibier kit to add to my growing collection.

Received today, used today on the commute home, 2 degrees, bitter cold strong wind and light rain, hands ok, not overly hot and dry so barrier and breathability properties good.

Have all 4 versions of the visions and 2 versions of deep winter, waiting for version 3 of deep winter to land.

Positives – barrier properties, sizing consistent with rest of range, good midway point between vision and deep winter, palm grips very effective, cuff nice and comfy

Negatives – material very firm, a little unforgiving especially when on the drops, on the hoods very good, could become more supple over time otherwise might try with a liner for comfort. Would like some reflective or high viz sections for riding in dark.

Summary, another great addition to the range giving a nice midpoint between the visions and deep winter, some reflective or high viz would make them a 5 for me.

  25. Michael Ormiston (verified owner)

Worked well at 6 degrees on a damp and misty day. Comparable performance to my old Gore Windstoppers but look more robust. Not warm enough at 2 degrees without liners. Upsize if you are on the sizing cusp. Excellent value and service.

  26. Adam Hutton

great in spring & autumn for me
use my deep winter ones when really cold
I do suffer with cold hands though

  27. Adam

After buying a pair of the Vision IVs and loving them, I bought these as a colder-weather alternative. Unfortunately, while the Visions were an amazing fit, these were uncomfortably tight. I mean, my hands are pretty big but I’ve never worn an XL glove which was this tight. Not sure why two different XL gloves from the same manufacturer differ so much in their fit – but there it is. Shame, because they seem really warm and well-made.

  28. Tom (verified owner)

Great gloves, very well made with what seem like superb materials. Not too bulky so they have great feel and they certainly keep my hands toasty.

  29. Colm (verified owner)

Look great, nice feel to the materials, sizing is accurate. As described they are light winter gloves, not for very cold winter days, but warm enough for most Irish winter rids.

  30. mark k (verified owner)

super fast delivery …sizing perfect ..and good quality .great job Galibier

  31. Mike Dean (verified owner)

I love these gloves. Ordered on launch weekend and they’ve been my go to pair since. I think they might be better than my barriers at stopping the wind getting through and have some cushioning unlike the roubaix gloves. My hands have stayed dry in rain too. Love them!

  32. Paul Schneider (verified owner)

Not much needs to be said, sleek looking, great wind proofing without feeling like wearing ski gloves. Can feel the bars and levers easily whilst feeling padded too. I sized up and pair with glove liners through the super cold months and just them alone as it warms (at this price might get a size down for breezing spring rides). Always amazed at the great customer service and VALUE!

  33. Paul Loveridge (verified owner)

After a great conversation with the amazing Galibier team I bought these gloves specifically as I suffer from very hot sweaty hands, I have been using the Roubaix 4’s in most temps down to 0 with no issue but had fond that was it and needed that extra layer of wind protection without the bulkiness you have with the barrier.
I took the gloves for the first test ride last weekend and they were amazing for me with the temps even in the south hitting below 0 with wind chill.
My hands felt wet but never cold, which for me was perfect.
These wont suit all in the deepest winter months and I look foward to trying them in some really sub zero temps to see how I can push them.
    Another triumph for the team.
Well done and thanks again for the advice.
    Paul

  34. Stephen Berkley

Dont understand how they can be so warm AND so thin. Had them for 3 weeks now and ten rides from 3 to 8 degrees and just love them. Comfortable and no signs of wear yet. Hope they will be usable up to 12-15 degrees and I would like to MTB in them year round Top marks as usuall Galibier

  35. ryan sogrowiczuk (verified owner)

as with every galibier product, well made, good quality, but 2-12 degrees is not accurate really, used in 6, 5, and 3 degrees and every rides my fingers were very cold, (before anyone asks, i usually use the Barrier winter glove which are bulkier but definitely warmer) The temperature range advice on these gloves are not 2-12, more like 10-15 at best, dissappointed with these and i will not be wearing them in the winter, spring , autumn maybe

  36. Christy Lynch (verified owner)

My new goto commuter glove for the colder days when winter specific gloves will sweat my hands.Wore these for the first time on an interval ride for one hour.Roads just cleared of light snow,0 degrees and hands were fine.Temperature crept up to 2 degrees and the gloves kept doing their job brilliantly.Superior fit and materials to my other no Galibier gloves.Neoprene cuff is perfectly sized and the grippers on palm and finger heel grip is a bonus. As usual you can tell the guys design this stuff actually wear it, ride in the same weather and just know what works perfectly.FAST DELIVERY AS USUAL.BRILLIANT RIDER FOCUSSED PRODUCT YET AGAIN.
