Colombière Pro Jacket

A light, high protection insulated jacket, delivers exceptional performance on and off the bike.

The Colombière pro is a light evolution of our standard insulated jacket which between on-bike performance and functional leisure wear.  The Pro version has 100% recycled Synthetic insulation in a weave which provides the same insulation but results in a lighter finished garment.

The main fabric has had a water-repellent (DWR) treatment to fend off a shower and the hood is removable with a hidden zip. The Front hand pockets are ‘inseam’ and zipped to protect valuables. Elasticated cuffs, waist and high neck keep out draughts. It can be worn with a single base layer in exercise conditions at temperatures of 10°C and down below freezing. Or add a mid layer for slumber or outside living in the coolest of conditions.

The fit is contoured without being overly snug, giving room for a layer underneath. The Roubaix fabric panels keep it close to the body to enhance both the fit and thermo regulation properties, on the bike and off.  We have designed it to be sufficiently long in the body and sleeves to work perfectly well when riding but at home. Roubaix panels are again utilised on the inside of the arms to enhance the fit and movement range of the jacket allowing you to put a bike on your shoulder with ease or reach for a beer right at the back of the fridge.

We have designed the insulation at 50gm, sandwiched between two lightweight woven nylon outer fabrics, to make it dry fast and leave the warmth to weight ratio just right. Reflective features on the chest zip and rear panel joins, add visibility without compromise on weight or packability. The hood is zip removable with a middle closure system so can be taken off completely for those packing lighter still. Embroidered logo on the chest in contrasting colours for each option.

Col de la Colombière is a mountain pass in the Alps in the department of Haute-Savoie in France. It connects Cluses in the Arve valley with Le Grand-Bornand in the Bourne valley. Both on and off road ascents to 1600 meters are only possible in summer time; for the rest of the year you need to be wearing this jacket for protection. (Other garments can be worn, it is not French law, but this is best).

Wore this on my -2 degree commute this morning with just a standard base layer underneath and I was plenty warm enough. I had previously used it at just into double figures and was a bit sweaty (but I do run warm) However, this morning it was just awesome, and love the side pockets for phone etc on a ride. Everything is just so well thought through and for the price its a winter ride no-brainer…I’m 6ft 2 and 38” chest and the medium is a perfect fit, not tight and not baggy

My go to jacket for the pub, it’s light but really warm and plenty of pocket space for phone etc

  3. James Lewis

Bought this for commutes and short winter casual rides, Great bit of kit as always. Found that it is a just a great jacket for casual wear and general winter use. Really useful if you’re nipping out on your bike and need to be seen as you can reverse it whilst staying very warm and dry but look good too.

My wife bought me the XL version of this jacket, having bought the Izoard Quilted Gilet last year (szL) and it fits me perfectly as I wear this more as a recreational jacket rather cycling, hence the larger size. It is warm, stylish and I have had several comments on the fit as being tall and lean, I often struggle to find the right sizing. this is another superb purchase from Galibier, yet it comes as no surprise as everything I have ever bought from has been equally impressive!

Have had the 1st gen of this jacket for just over a year now and it has been getting worn so much – usually for short spins on the bike (over and back on the school run, down to the beach for a swim), out for walks. Have to remind myself to wash it once in a while. Cosy and not bulky or sweaty. Was tempted to get the new version as I like the stitching detail, but have run out of coathooks…

I’m 5’ 7” 65k and M fits perfectly. Very warm and comfortable to wear and excellent value. Some other brands winter jackets at twice the price aren’t half as good!

Great jacket, ok with just a short sleeve base layer till around 2-3 degrees and then with long sleeve’s when colder, fits nicely and can’t believe how warm it is considering how light the jacket feels. Also looks great and very useful that you can wear it reversible with the orange colour on dark grey days
