I’ve had this jacket for a few years now and love it! I mainly use it for commuting to work, but have also used it on a couple of bike packing trips and it’s been perfect for that too. It’s not something you would wear on a road bike, with full Lycra gear, but then it’s not really designed for that. It’s totally waterproof, but more importantly for cycling, extremely breathable. I’ve never once felt like I’m boiling in a bag, in fact sometimes I’ve felt a bit chilly with just a short sleeved top underneath. I have the orange version, which is very orange and very bright, which is great for cycling, but maybe a bit much for just general use. I sometimes think I should have bought the green or red version, but then when I wear it on the bike, I do feel that I’m seen. I guess I’ll just have to buy another one in a different colour for none bike use . It’s showing no signs of wear (except for where I’ve got oil on it), even though I carry a pretty heavy bag to work. There are only a few minor negatives, none of which are dealbreakers. I wish the hood could be rolled up out of the way somehow, either with a toggle or a zip in the collar and that it had a peak and was a bit bigger for my massive head. Also, that it had a coat hanger on the inside, which is strangely annoying, when you don’t have one, but besides these minor issues, it’s been way better than any waterproof jacket I’ve ever owned, even one’s that are dedicated walking jackets made from very expensive Gortex that have cost two or even three times as much! Great jacket, keep up the good work Galibier.

Good quality surprisingly thick material that keeps out the rain, long hem to the rear and a canny fold down removable hi viz extension. Have been using this the past couple of years mainly for cycle commuting in the wet and windy west of Ireland. It always impresses me how well it keeps out the rain, and also doesn’t make me feel like I’m being ‘boiled in the bag’. Have taken to wearing it out and about for walking, at parkrun, shopping, over my big brand GoreTex. Would be even better for me if it was a female fit, knowing how good that is in the other jackets (I’ve tried on both male/unisex and female versions of the same jackets, and for someone with, ahem, child bearing hips, it’s nice to have the flare at the bottom)- but I get over that with unzipping from the bottom up a bit.

180cm, 39in chest, 75 kilos, got the medium and am happy with the fit. Plenty of room for layering underneath. I’ve gone for Large in other Galibier tops (Roubaix and base layers) but Medium in this is perfect.
Got this as a Christmas present and haven’t worn it on the bike yet but have worn it on several hikes and it has kept me dry and comfortable in some rough enough weather.
The materials and finish are premium quality and it has a lovely feel. Feels better than other jackets I’ve had from North Face, Berghaus etc which cost considerably more.
Got the orange which certainly stands out!

Unbelievable piece of kit for the money. This is certainly one of the best Rotten weather jackets I have ever used. Tried and tested during an impromptu snow/sleet storm where I was drastically unprepared. All the rest of my kit failed but this jacket certainly did not! My core and base layer were bone dry beneath the jacket. This jacket will be put through its paces on the Highland Trail 550 this year and I have full faith it will be up to the task and more. Well done guys on another well designed product!

Another review that concurs with all the others – this is a great jacket that can be used for cycling and walking.
Performance wise…this isnt the lightest feel of jackets but its waterproof, warm and has good breathability. This jacket happily shook off all of the weather the Lake District could throw at it between Christmas and New year 2024 – howling rain at some points – and did not let in a drop of water.
Fit wise, Im 6ft4, 75kg and the medium worked well for me. Still plenty of room for a fleece and a down jacket underneath (neither of which have ever felt clammy so shows the breathability is good). Lots of nice additional features like the detachable high viz section at the back, reinforced shoulders for rucksack straps to prevent them slipping and wearing the fabric, storm flap at the front over the main zip plus all the zips are weatherproof.
Ive had double the price jackets that dont perform as well as this one. I was that impressed, we bought another one for my partner to commute on the bike in bright orange.
Galibier equipment is outstanding value for money.

This jacket kicks butt. I use it to commute around Paris,FR and when it’s really cold, wet or both, this jacket does the job. The waterproofing is top knotch and the high-vis orange is, well, high-vis. If it’s not lower than 5°C outside, you risk overheating even with the armpit holes open, especially if carrying a backpack but even without a bag it gets pretty warm. That is to say the it is pretty darn windproof as well. I wanted this jacket for an on and off the bike garment. It’s great for walking around in crummy weather and the hood cinch and wrist cuffs work brilliantly. The inner breast pocket is super useful as well as the large side pockets with zip closers. You don’t see jackets of this quality at this price. Pairs really well with the orange Galibier sythetic thermal base layer. Service and shipping was fast and efficient.Thanks Galibier.

What a %#^*ing unbelievable jacket.
This jacket is such a fantastic fit, even when wearing it with the hood up and helmet over it.
Talk about waterproof, it laughs at the recent hail and snow ⛄️. I now can commute to work happily, not getting sweaty, not getting blown around & feeling warm & dry.
My only complaint is that it looks so good off the pushbike, all my mates want one.

Heavy thick fabric that is very cool when worn, nothing has gone through this as tested on my 28 mile round trip commute. Purchased March 2024, this has seen rain, sleet and hail. I went for the green colour and in the flesh it looks great, worn in the office only drew great comments (honestly) and I’m not a person to show off. I did the road side change of shame and bottled my anxiety of the “hood under the helmet” style and the garment still fit and was movable. I’m not lying when I say the next statement and I thought I wouldn’t say this, my goretex jacket is now a spare in the cupboard for local errands. 77KG, 35″ waist, 38″ chest, 6 foot and using a size Large.

One of the most versatile pieces of kit I have. I use mainly for commuting but also works really well for off the bike. Have used it hiking and for golf in really testing conditions. Top quality jacket that out performs items at twice the price from other big name brands. Took this on holiday recently and I wear it on the damp days at home. I have cycled, hiked, socialized with it . The materials and cut are superb. I`m 185cm,85kg and the Large fits perfect. I have similar jackets costing 3 x the price from a few years ago made of Gore-Tex (thick gauge) fabric and I cannot tell the difference. This is a do it all jacket that is 100 % waterproof and can be packed down small if not required. The subtle reflective trims are a great touch and the overall build quality is superb. Another cracker piece of kit to embarrass the big brands.

Very pleased with my purchase. Was contemplating between this and a Rapha winter commuter jacket, and this one won me over, and I’m extremely happy with my purchase. Bought loads of Galibier gear recently and love the quality and fit, and the prices too!
I always buy medium but this time had to exchange for Small, I’m 5’10” and 70kg. Only downside, a bit of reflective stuff on the wrists for signalling, and a hangy-up thing inside or below the hood.
But again, a great product, perfect for my ride into work!

With advancing age and “race weight” being a thing of the past; I am increasingly ambivalent about “The Rules” and want my gear to be functional, good value and something that looks as good in the cafe as it does out on the trails/road. This is where Galibier comes in. I already have the insulated puffa jacket that is so good looking that part of me does not want winter to end….I commute to work feeling all warm and toasty in that bad boy and then later can walk over to the coffee shop wearing it and not look out of place. Not many performance cycling jackets can do that.
So when I saw the Courchevel Storm Jacket drop, I asked myself do I need this? Can I afford this? Do I want this? No, No and Yes. Delivered in usual Galibier hyperspeed. I went for the orange and the first thing that hits you when unpacking is, well, it is ORANGE. Possibly a bit loud for everyone’s taste but I think that it looks dope.
Today was a perfect day to test it on a New Forest gravel ride. Chucking down with rain and 40mph winds. Perfect weather for a storm jacket and boy was I glad that I had it. The jacket performed brilliantly, no water ingress and the protection from the wind was way better than I have had with more expensive, dedicated wind jackets. One section of my ride today was a small road section up a false 2% flat into a block 40mph headwind. Rather unpleasant. However, no wind got through and my upper body was nice and protected.
I did cycle for a bit with the hood up and found it personally a bit claustrophobic for riding, but am glad that the hood is there as I would use it if the rain was a bit harder, but more to the point, this is likely to be more than a cycling jacket and I can see me wearing it out on walks etc.
I am 5ft 10 and a bit larger on the chest than I would like. I went for the XL as like a more relaxed comfortable fit and don’t give two damns about aero. Due to that, the length of the jacket and the arms may be considered a bit too much for some, but for me it was bang on.
All in all, an absolute treat. A quality bit of kit that looks brilliant. Can’t wait to see what Galibier come up with next….am hoping for some casual summer gear for gravel/adventure riding 🙂 Thanks guys for another great design at a great price.

Absolutely cracking foul weather jacket.
Really good build, excellent specs.
Windproofing – 10. Its a thick membrane and completely windproof. Reasonably heavyweight, so doesn’t flap around in the breeze.
Coldproofing – 7. Its lined, but it will transfer the cold in after a while.
Rainproofing – 10. Suitable for all deluged up to and including Old Testament levels of downpour.
Cut – 8. Long arms, long back, doesn’t bunch up in the chest or stomach too much. Hood is great, although sometimes obscures over-shoulder.
Fit & Finish – 10. Stitching and cutting well above what you should reasonably expect for £90. It is remarkably orange as well.
Recommended without hesitation for urban/commute and MTB. Probably a bit bulky and not aero enough for you roadies.
