Introducing the Elements jersey, a harmonious blend of style, sustainability, and performance. Born from a conversation with YKK about their eco-conscious NATULON® range, this jersey embraces recycled fabrics, which are now matching the performance of traditionally spun materials. The Polyamide fabric, derived from 100% second-life materials, promises breathability, rapid drying, and efficient moisture wicking, complemented by a smooth finish. Additionally, it offers UV protection. A significant aspect of this fabric is its low-energy reconstruction process, which underscores our commitment to planet-friendly practices.
Our sustainable approach extends beyond the fabric. All our garments are packaged in recycled or biodegradable materials. Only the high-stretch side panels incorporate 25% virgin Lycra, combined with 75% recycled mesh fabric from PET bottles. This is because fully recycled materials haven’t quite met the flexibility standards we aim for yet.
The jersey’s eco-conscious journey continues with low water sublimation, a final wash preparation, and sea transport, ensuring minimal environmental impact. We encourage conscious consumption: if you don’t genuinely need it, consider not buying it. Every aspect of the jersey, including the double stitching in high-use areas, speaks to our dedication to durability and quality.

Excellent jersey. Contrary to the general wisdom – or lack thereof – of using new kit for the first time on a big ride, I did just that at the weekend on a 180km outing. It never felt uncomfortable in all that time and performed brilliantly in the warm (for Ireland) sunny conditions with temperature in the 20-25C range for the most part. Pockets are generous and secure, with a zip protected key/money pocket. I’m 182cm/91kg and the XL was a perfect fit. The colour scheme also met the approval of my (French) wife, and may have eased the way to disappear on the bike for most of a Sunday 🙂

Good summer jersey (been using it with a base layer in temperatures up to mid twenties). I love the material of this jersey and its texture. It is more robust than a more typical summer jersey materials (e.g., as found on the Lautaret), I have used it on several days that required prolonged periods of carrying and it’s still like new. I also prefer the extra zipped pocket on the side as it is here (so car keys don’t sit on the top of the phone). The cut sleeves took me by surprise, thinking they would fray, but they have been fine. The only issue with it I am not 100% sold on the silicon non-slip strip inside the sleeves (I have to readjust the sleeves after getting on the bike), and would prefer the sleeves maybe 1″ longer (XXL), but these are minor niggles, not enough not to give it full 5 stars. I’d buy a second one if there was another color choice.

This is a nice jersey, but there are a few niggles which don’t really work for me compared to other Galibier kit I have. I really love the colour scheme (shades of MVDP) but I don’t feel the recycled material is as breathable as my other tops. On some recent rides, using my usual base layer underneath, things got pretty uncomfortable quite quickly, despite it being breezy with the temperature in the low teens.
The raw cut sleeves aren’t my cup of tea (I should have paid more attention to the photos on the website), but my main concern is the rear pockets. My Specialissima jersey has great pockets that you can load up for all day rides, whereas these were sagging with a mobile, some keys and a couple of gels. I’m not sure if this a limitation of the recycled material, but it was a bit disconcerting, not knowing if stuff was going to bounce out over rougher tarmac.
In summary, I would recommend this jersey, but mainly for shorter rides in spring and autumn. It’s a stylish piece for a cafe run, but doesn’t quite hit the mark for the kind of riding I had in mind.
