Cut for comfort in the riding position, our all new Tourmalet is the garment you reach for when the forecast looks grim but the ride looks mighty. Fully taped seaming and windproof body fabric deliver reliable performance when faced with downpours or chilly descents. A dual cuff for a neater fit, a large pocket off to one side for ease of access with gloves on and a drop tail to prevent a soaking from road spray. The front zip has a storm flap to provide extra protection for the two way YKK® zip, and despite all of these features the jacket still weighs less than 300 grams.
Our new Tourmalet evolved from the new HydraStop 2.9+ membrane. The advances in fabric technology meant we could provide even more protection with the new materials 20k/20k* and our Tourmalet would remain packable. We retained the celebrated fit and taped seams thoughout which are doubled stitched for durability. A storm proof zip and high collar keep you protected when the skies open. The off-centre zip is to reduce collar bulk if worn over jerseys. The sky blue finish with reflective highlights keep you visible. Can be worn over a base layer in spring and summer. Add a long sleeve jersey and it can be used as a jacket replacement in Winter.
This is our 4th generation of this rain jacket and riders love it.
Manufacturers typically describe the waterproof/breathability of each fabric by using two sets of numbers. The first number, in millimeters (mm) represents how waterproof the fabric is. This is 20,000 or 20k. The second number represents how breathable a fabric is. This is expressed in grams and represents how much moisture vapour (warm air/sweat) can pass through one square meter of the fabric (from the inside to the outside) in 24 hours.
Key Features:
- Long splash tail.
- A higher performing fabric 20k/20k
- Easy pull,YKK 2 way stormproof zip.
- Machine washable (30 degrees only).
- 8 reflective trim elements.
- Durable, as usual we stand over ALL our products.
- Will roll up to fit in a large jersey pocket.
- 298 grams (Large).
The garment is standard fit to be worn all day over jersey. There is no extra flap material but is designed for space for air to circulate. Tighter fitting rain capes like our Tempest, are ideally worn for a shorter duration when a shower is encountered or a descent ridden. The Tourmalet can be worn for 30 minute shower or all day protection.

Have only just started using this jacket and have found it so comfortable, easy fits in to rear pocket, I’m 5’6″, 10stone 5ish, 40″ chest, 32″ waist. brought the large and good fit over base and long sleeve jacket. kept the rain off as expected.

A very fine rain jacket and at this price point unbeatable. Ordered Friday early arrived UK mainland on Saturday with a cool buff thrown in thank you.
I am 186cm tall and weigh 74kg and the large is just right.
I have other rain jackets costing 3 times this price. First ride was a windy evening hilly ride average temperature 6 degrees C with constant drizzle for 2 hours. I wore a thin merino base and a Gabba underneath. Certainly warm whole ride and on hard climbs only a little moisture build but on returning home everything under the jacket was dry.
Really liked the cuffs and the reflective piping. Zip was a wee bit tricky to close at the neck on bike with gloves on. Overall impression just brilliant!

An absolutely brilliant jacket. Have only had it one week and have had to use it twice already in a typical Irish wet summer! Keeps you dry, looks good, love the offset zip and high collar plus the soft cuffs. Really awesome, and at a fraction of the cost of many of the big brand name companies. Great that an Irish company is making such fantastic gear – I have also purchased the Energie thermno bibs and the quality is as good in these.
Fantastic customer service, personalised message wirh the delivery and a free snood, no-one else delivers with such quality.
Keep up the good work.
Will definitley be buying more stuff from Galibier.

Tested in Spain mediterranean coast, it has been great where other expensive garment failed. We have full alternating climbing and descending terrain, with hot sun combined with chilling sea breeze (10º-20ºC, sometimes more than 10ºC difference between shadow and sunny areas). It protected me well during winter and mid seasons and adapted fine, breathable enough with great windproofing.
It’s not very slim fitting, finding right size it’s hard.

Although I bought my Tourmalet a while ago, last weekend was the first time I’ve had the chance to use it in proper wet conditions.
100 miles of the Moray Way gravel route in a strong Northwesterly, with driving rain sleat, snow and hail at various times of the day.
I don’t think anything would’ve kept me totally dry for the 8.5 hrs we were out, but I was amazed by the performance of the Tourmalet, I was only mildly damp under the jacket, mainly I suspect down to sweat, and the jacket had proved totally windproof.
I have no doubt that the Tourmalet was a major factor in me being able to finish the ride at all, and the protection offered by something so light and packable is quite phenomenal. Then add in Galibier’s fantastic value for money and well the Toumalet looks unbeatable IMHO.

This is an excellent jacket. I love a race fit rain jacket. Totally waterproof as far as I am concerned and made from a material that I haven’t encountered before. Great zip, excellent cuffs. It has been used mostly as a winter jacket for me with a long sleeve base and a short sleeve jersey underneath. I haven’t encountered any any overheating issues and the windproofing is more than enough to avoid getting cold.
Recommended.

A great jacket and fantastic quality and performance for the money. I’m very happy with my purchase but do think it could be improved in a few areas. A single pocket such as on the chest would be great, as would a bit more ventilation. The fit is great on the bike overall, although the collar is a bit flappy unless zipped right to the top. I’m 6’2″ and an XL is spot on.
Ed (verified owner) –
Bought the Tourmalet 3 but luckily I avoided using it until this previous week where I’ve needed it twice. It has lived tightly rolled in the rear pocket of whatever jacket I chose that day. First unfurling was on Christmas Day during a wet weather warning. One hour solid riding in steady rain. I layered it over a gabba. Taking it off I fully expected the arms to be wet as is usual with a waterproof jacket. Nope, my Gabba was perfectly dry!
I was shocked!
This jacket is shockingly good!
The Sizing according to the size chart was spot on.
Excellent customer service and complementary socks!
This jacket is an absolute bargain.
Buy it!

Bought this jacket after it received a rave review on road.cc and I must say Im not disappointed. Living in the West of Scotland it will see plenty of use! Like the Mistral jacket I bought from galibier, it is a superb piece of cycling kit. Add to that the prompt and friendly service from galibier and you cant go wrong. Highly recommended.

A nice lightweight jacket that easily fits in the back pockets of a cycling jersey and can be used either to keep you dry or to give you one more layer when the you don’t know if you are going to be warm enough…or too warm.
It will keep the rain off, but it won’t stop you sweating and hence being having clammy layers under the jacket.
I am a 5 ‘8 11st 11lb medium. I bought the XL. This is slightly large on me but gives room for base, mid and another third layer underneath if necessary. Buy a L if you are normally M and want a more snug fit.
Four stars only as the zipper is very difficult to pull up and down single handed because of the flap overlap that sits underneath the zipper that gets caught in the zip.
Ross McDonald (verified owner) –
I did 200km around Fife a few weeks back and 130km were in heavy rain. The top half of me under this jacket was warm and dry. The long tail is good and keeps most of the road spray out. I’m 5’8″ (175cm) with 40″ chest and 33″ waist. L was very snug so sized up to XL and it’s spot on with a long sleeve base layer and jersey. High neck and offset zip work well. The dark blue does blend in with the road though and I feel there could be more reflective elements on it (add a strip down the back like on the Tempest Pro?). There is a reflective hem, zip toggle, small strip on each cuff and logo on left sleeve. Red, orange or flouro-yellow colour way options for those low viz days would be great. I’d have to get another one.

I bought the Tourmalet 3 for the Etape Caledonia 2021 as the weather forecast was wet. It performed faultlessly. Kept the morning chill out perfectly. The top of Schiehallion was cold and rainy but this kept me dry, warm and the wind out. Light and easily packable into back pocket. Nice proper cuffs which keep the wind out. Small niggle is getting the cuff over a chunky Garmin watch when taking it off but to be fair I can still remove it even on the go if I pull the cuff over it first. Absolutely stellar. Recommend? Yes!
Pat connolly (verified owner) –
I bought the new tourmalet 3 jacket, if you want a comfortable fit go a size bigger, I used it on a cycle today and it kept me warm and dry, just a pity there is no pocket, hopefully there will be other colours available
Paul Cullen (verified owner) –
What an absolute belter of a rain jacket. Just tried it today in horrible winds and rain. Awesome, and at a fraction of the cost of the big boys. Managed to stuff it in to my Topeak bar bag which is a big plus. And an Irish company too – what more could you ask for? Love the free socks guys, too! Definitely will be ordering more stuff from you, so a wee loyalty scheme would be great.
Anthony (verified owner) –
Very pleased with this. I have had this jacket for 6 months and used during the wet and windy Devon winter. Kept me dry and warm when layered up. I am 182cm and 67kg and size small was a nice fit. The jacket doesn’t flap around. It rolls up small enough to put in a jersey pocket for summer rides.
Ellen –
This has never left my back pocket all winter. And when it gets donned I always marvel at its warmth and water proofness. Even got one for the partner and his dad. The brightness of the red is my favourite part
Peter (verified owner) –
If you want ultimate upper body protection from wind and rain from -2 to 10° (worn with base layer/jersey) then use this jacket – I have and it works. Go 1 size up to allow for layering. The added bonus of a free gift and a personalised note makes buying from Galibier again and again an easy option. Thanks all.
Don –
Beyond impressed with this jacket , I’ve been on some hard ( for me ) rides with it now and I am able to regulate my body temperature perfectly , my issue with jackets in the past has been over heating , absolutely not the case with this at all . Also thank you for the socks !! Really pleasant surprise!! 🙂 Will be purchasing from you again definitely!

Class piece of kit for your Cycling wardrobe at a great price. The Tourmalet Rain jacket is excellent barrier against the rain and if required to have on standby also for windchill. As with all the Galibier products the standard of quality and fit is excellent.I am 42 chest so went for an XL as if you are wearing over the winter period you need the extra room for other clothing layers.Paired with the VU Winter jacket and nothing come through.Yet again top marks to Galibier.

[ORDER #46035] (OCTOBER 6, 2020)
Great jacket at a great price. 42 inch chest so got the Xl after having read the reviews and its a lovely fit and looks great to.
Will definitely be buying from these guys again.

I had bought 3 different rain jackets over the past 5 years and was unhappy with them all for verious reasons. After finding a link to this on twitter, I read the other reviews and decided to buy one. Was blown away by the quality of it. Very was made. Got to use it briefly in Dublin. Then Brought it on my staycation to Conamara in Co Galway and put it to good use. Base layer underneath is all thats needed. Folds down very nicely to fit into jersey back pocket. Use as windbreaker also. So happy with this I have since ordered mitts, winter gloves and bib shorts. My only problem is that I wish I found this brand before. Love from Dublin. Ps. Free neck warmer was a lovely touch

Recent purchase – used in “anger” the once when rain at the end of the ride appeared and it did the job just fine. Love all the Galibier stuff I’m buying.
I’m 5′ 11″ , 44″ chest, 34″ waist and 88kg – XXL is good fit for me for this item
Tim Jarrett (verified owner) –
I bought this on the strength of the reviews here (and elsewhere) and have to say I’m more than impressed by the jacket, it’s clearly a high-quality, well-designed piece of kit. I just know Galibier have got me as a new customer for some time to come. I’m 5’9″, 43″ chest, 34″ waist and weigh 85kg – XXL is a perfect fit for me.
Flavius –
I bought this jacket after reading all the good reviews. I must say it is amazing. I went out last Sunday and in Ireland we had gale force winds and poured rain all day. After a 4 hour spin I was dry inside and never felt cold while cycling. I always get cold arms when I go down hill, but this jacket has kept me warm and dry for the entire time. Now I can enjoy rainy windy spins. Just careful when you wash it not to destroy the inside membrane, it’s advisable to hand wash only.
Dan McKevitt (verified owner) –
Super rain jacket I bought it a few weeks ago and I’ve had it on for at least 4 heavy showers. Dry as a bone ever time looks great too. Highly recommend it
Kevin Stewart (verified owner) –
I didn’t want to review this as soon as I’d got it, even though it looked and felt good quality. I’m 6’3′ and take a 44 chest. I ordered the XL and returned it for an XXL as I just felt a bit tight across the shoulders. So now having taken it on the road it’s probably something I’ll always take in my back pocket outside summertime, even if I’m not wearing it to start with. Waterproof, windproof, looks good, fits well and one of those bits of kit you just feel comfortable with immediately.
Richard Buckland (verified owner) –
This jacket is a winner! Purchased in Sep 19, it has been put to good use this winter and kept out the rain and wind. The XL is a comfortable fit (I’m 6’0″, 79Kg, 38″ chest) over a base layer or two and packs down really well. In true Galibier fashion, the quality of the material and construction is excellent and exudes quality…at a great price! I now look forward to commuting in the rain!
Stephen Waldron –
This is a quality jacket, well done Galibier. I’m 6’2 and 78kg and the XL is a perfect fit. Wore it with a long sleeve compression top and jersey in 2c conditions and not once did I feel the cold even on the descent. It kept me warm and comfortable. This will be my go to jacket from now on. Overall a fantastic piece of kit.
Colin Delderfield –
Very good jacket, I was fortunate to be able to try on at the NEC Cycle show so for my very uncyclist shape (176 cm tall 109cm chest) XXL is a good fit. Impressed with the extra drop tail and high neck, this jacket is handling a very wet Autumn in Somerset with aplomb.
Jason Evans (verified owner) –
Living in rural Wales, a good winter jacket a priority, for keeping out and about all year round. I’ve had a few now, including big name brands, but this Jacket is simply amazing, especially considering the price. It’s warm and keeps out the wind and rain incredibly well. I love the high neck line and the long back. The sleeves have plenty of length too, which can be an issue for memwith some brands. Paired with a warm underlayer this is thing is perfect for cold winder rides too, wet or dry. Love it! I’m 6ft 1″ and 11 stone and the Medium is a great fit.
Paul N (verified owner) –
First outing in heavy rain today, was dry when I go to work. Style/cut of the jacket is very good, longer back and sleeves were appreciated. Overall, a well designed an good quality product.
Gavin P –
I’ve been looking at Galibier Jackets for some time and asked for this as an 10th anniversary gift. Its so good I’m up for another I’m already looking at the rest of the range for our 11th!
Worn twice so far on hour long rides – one wet and one windy – and it’s a quality jacket at a fantastic price. Kept me bone dry and warm with a thin long sleeved base layer and despite the moderate temperatures I didn’t find myself boiling on short climbs. I ordered a size up as I commute everyday and even with that bit of extra room it’s a great cut and would be a great race fit if ordered at my normal size.
You can tell that this is a product made by cyclists with good coverage from rear wheel spray and nice reflective detailing. Really happy to support a quality, independent brand and will definitely be buying from Galibier again

Jacket arrived yesterday, this morning tipping it down 15 miles towork on bike dry as a bone. Quality.
Simon Bessell (verified owner) –
WOW, what a fantastic jacket. 60 miles in it on a near freezing start to the day in the Peak District. Then big climbs & all I did was vent the zip down a few inches, then long descent & no flapping and lovely & warm, culminating in a shower. Fits perfectly, the attention to detail is unbelievable. Love Galibier clothing.
Olafur Thordarson (verified owner) –
Bought this almost a year ago for my wife and I. Here are my comments:
-Worked for example very well in a day long 215 km tour with constant downpour in ca. 8-11C.
-Well thought out and very good reflecting material for visibility and safety.
-Excellent repelling the rain.
-Windproof.
-Lightweight
-Way too hot for New York City summers, but for fall through spring it is my preferred cycling clothing when there is a chance of rain. For me it works best in ca. -2 to +10C temperatures.
-On colder days work with different underlayers for comfort, such as merino wool.
-At times I wouldn’t mind an underarm zipper for better breathing.
-Ran a bit tight but has long sleeves for added protection.
Mick o leary (verified owner) –
Excellent jacket for the price, wore it on a recent club spin where it rained throughout, kept me dry and also warm without being a boil in the bag, I’m 6’7″, slim build and got the size large which is a good fit on the bike, I’d have no hesitation in recommending this jacket, great bit of kit.
Steve B (verified owner) –
I have little to no experience of water proof jackets – having previously bought a couple of budget items only to discard them (yes literally throw away) because they were ‘boil in the bag’ affairs. I bought the Tourmalet II for an upcoming trip from London to Amsterdam and was blown away by how comfortable it was to wear over 5 hours – it kept me dry during multiple Dutch deluges and howling winds and I wasn’t reduced to profuse sweating despite wearing it for a prolonged period of time. It couldn’t have been more comfortable to wear throughout and performed at least as well as one of my fellow riders’ Rapha rain jacket. The only gripe that I have (and why I haven’t awarded a 5* review) is that both the jacket and the additional rain flap come up short (I have the size small jacket and am circa. 5’10”) and had it not been for my removable mudguard I would have suffered from an extremely damp derrière. That said this is a top piece of kit (especially for the money) and I am very happy with it overall – thanks Galibier! (Oh yeah and thanks for the complimentary pair of socks, they are awesome too!)
Matt Cox (verified owner) –
I’ve only got into cycling the last few months (commute to work) – and this was my first proper item of cycling clothing purchased. I finally had my first day cycling in the rain last week – and this jacket was perfect. Very comfy to wear and it looks the part too. Most importantly it kept the rain out.
Paul Schneider (verified owner) –
I have the first version of this jacket so can only vouch for that. That being said this jacket is AMAZING! 100% waterproof, fantastic windbreaker, the fit is incredible. Have had mine for several years now and still performs and looks great to this day
Martin Critchlow –
I bought this jacket just before winter rains set in. I have had many rain proof jackets in my time but this by far the best I’ve ever had. Very waterproof, lightweight and stylish. I also use this top go running in, just use the handy velcro tabs at the back to fold up the tail. Every running jacket I’ve used I am usually just as wet inside as out but not in this one. Brilliant gear from Galibier will be buying plenty more clothing from them, best bang for buck on the market.
Kevin Wilkinson (verified owner) –
Great looking, great fit (you could race in this jacket), comfortable technically sound rain jacket that keeps you dry when it rains. You wont regret buying this jacket. I’m 5’10″97kg and 44″ chest, ordered XXL… perfect fit. I love the drop down rear panel that protects my rear end when no mud guards are fitted.
Didi –
Stop thinking about it. Just buy one.
When it’s lashing down, and you’re out on your bike, you will be so glad to have this jacket. End of.

Simon (verified owner) –
I received this jacket last week and managed to give it a pretty full on test today. I ordered a large, I have a 98 cm chest, am 178 tall and weigh 76 kg. I have spent 4 years living and cycling in the French alpes and the last 18 months in the Pyrenees and have had many combinations of foul weather gear. On reading all the reviews on the tourmalet jacket I decided this one was interesting. When I tried it at home, I felt that the cut on the chest was a little on the loose side and wished that the front was cut a few cm’s higher. I would have prefered maybe to try a medium, but it wouldn’t have fitted in the shoulders.
The day before I tried it, I visited Jorma bike in Andorra and tried the gore bike wear 1985 jacket, it was sublime in every way, incredible fit, super light, amazingly small when packed down and 300€!! So I can forgive the tourmalet for being a very slightly inferior cut and also commend it for being over £230 cheaper! I secretly wanted the galibier tourmalet to fail so I could then buy the gore 1985.
So, today I rode 80km, climbing 2500m. I wore the jacket in dry conditions for the first early and cold descent of 7km and it was perfect, totally windproof. Once I began climbing, the jacket, though not the smallest, did fit into my rear pocket. I was in a full aero race fit jersey but managed to stow the jacket and carry arm warmers, buff, gloves, cap phone and enough food for the ride. The real test came on the final climb. It began raining steadily. I put it on at 15°c and climbed the last 10km and 870m vertical. It was 9°c at the col. All the time I remained comfortable and dry, the jacket always shedding water with ease. So was I happy and surprised by how it performed, yes and yes. The jacket at far less cost than most had performed beyond all my expectations. Can I forgive the small issues with the cut? Yes absolutely, especially when I would have to pay many times more for the perfect fit.
Do I regret not buying the gore jacket, not at all!!

Superb jacket for the wettest of days.Have wore this through a tropical downpour and stayed dry.Perfect collar shape is fantastic and the sliding cuff is brilliant. This is now my favourite piece of kit.Very light and good venting if paired with a baselayer only.
Rennie Chadwick (verified owner) –
Fabulous jacket, kept me warm and dry on a very long, wet and cold ride in March. I am 1.93 and 94kg, the XL was a very good fit. Enough room for a base layer and Jersey underneath but not much more. Notwithstanding, those three layers were enough to keep me warm at below 5 degrees C in a driving hailstorm.
Meave baxter –
I have the small older version. Mainly use on the mtb, best jacket ever. Really keeps you dry. (It also didn’t rip to shreds when I binned myself while wearing it)
Paul P (verified owner) –
Rode the Mad March Hare Sportive on Sunday in torrential rain for the first hour. First time out in my Tourmalet Rain Jacket. Took it off half way and I was bone dry. Pound for pound the best cycling apparel I have ever bought. Cannot recommend this jacket enough. Told all my club mates after too. Chapeau!
Tim Ranger (verified owner) –
Just got back from an hour and half ride in intermittent February rain – quite cold and definitely wet. The jacket worked as I returned warm and dry :-). My well known make commuter jacket would have been pretty damp inside after the same ride but the Tourmalet was nice and dry. TBH, my base layer was a bit clammy but that is a small price to pay for the protection offered.
The jacket looks great in racing red with a go-faster stripe and the chest sizing is spot on although its cut will not suit those who like pies! The sleeves are long and the cuffs work brilliantly My only gripe is that it is a bit short for anyone over six feet tall.
Overall this is a great piece of cycling kit that would be hard to beat at any price – well done again Galibier.
Nick Topley (verified owner) –
Exceptional piece of kit. Do size up but it is as described. High quality, lovely feel to the fabric and it keeps the rain out (and keeps you warm)

Best just got better with the new updated version of this wonderful jacket. Have the previous model and it’s still going strong. Original quality added to this new bright red colour and excellent new spray tail feature make this a must buy jacket. 2 hours ride in the rain today and bone dry. Top marks Galibier.
Gavin H (verified owner) –
I wanted not to like this jacket. Why? Because at this price, it couldn’t possibly be any good – could it?
Having taken the plunge and ordered it – because lets be honest, it’s properly inexpensive for what it claims to be – I was pretty impressed to receive in the post the next day. Trying it on over a t-shirt, I was genuinely impressed. Good fit, high neck, decent back length, comfy cuffs and the fabric and general construction oozed a quality that exceeded my expectations significantly.
The first time it was used ‘in anger’ was in the French Alps. Despite heavy, driving rain, this jacket absolutely nailed it. It fits in a single jersey pocket (not entirely, but the bit that will protrude from the top just renders it easier to extract!), is relatively light – certainly light enough to not appreciate your are carrying it – and, most importantly, is absolutely waterproof. Breathability is every bit as good as you’d want on a cold, wet day too. Having previously owned a DHB eVent jacket that was lighter but nowhere near as robust as this, yet nearly twice the price, I can honestly say this is one of the best pieces of cycling apparel I have ever bought and at the price, will leave you questioning why Assos et al can charge so much when the quality is not significantly better? My only gripe is that it could do with a zip pull to aid adjustment of the zip but that is easily fixed.
This is a must have for anyone in the market for a good waterproof jacket.
Gareth (bespoke-wheels.com) (verified owner) –
Fantastic jacket. Lightweight, fits in rear Jersey pocket. Has kept me dry in some very heavy rainy days out on long rides in wet, windy Wales! Best rain jacket I’ve owned. Much better than some BIG brand names that cost 3x as much. Only negative… I only have one of them!!! Fab jacket. Well done Galibier.cc

God decided to pour buckets of water on my head for 6 days straight whilst I was cycling the north coast of Scotland. Even God himself couldn’t make water wet enough to get through this one. Galibier 1 God nil.

Purchased the Galibier 7k/4k Tourmalet Waterproof Jacket several weeks ago, and was looking forward to wearing and testing it out in the foul weather we had a few days ago.
I spent 6 days cycling North West highlands, The jacket is 100% windproof, breathability, I’m unable to comment as I sweat buckets, In torrential rain you will get wet, as I did with 12 hours of cycling.
In light rain, showers, etc and to keep the wind chill off I would definitely recommend… You will not be able to purchase a quality jacket like the Galibier 7k/4k Tourmalet Waterproof Jacket.
This jacket is in the same league as the Castelli Gabba at a fraction of the price.
I’m more than happy with the jacket, that I’m about to purchase the Mistral foul II weather Jacket, and the Colombière Winter jacket to my collection.
Yves –
Wore this jacket during a gran fondo race, 10hrs on the bike, of which 3 hours in torrential rain. never felt cold. Kept me warm in descents, easily off in the valleys, high cuff is really comfy. In winter wore it with a light jersey underneath. perfect jacket! Had a nasty crash during a descent, only minor arm wounds due to the strong fabric. Will order a new one immediately.

I reviewed a number of jackets before purchasing this one, the positive re-marks swayed my decision, and it hasn’t let me down. Great fit, stylish, well designed, constructed and great value. I use it to commute and weekend rides, definitively a place in by cycling drawer for more Galibier clothing.

Got this jacket December 2014 as a Christmas pressie, has been worn many many times since then, have covered about 7000 mile in this time. Feb 2016, 2 hr ride in heavy rain driven by 15 mph wind at -0.5 2 degree celcius. Functions as good now as when new, wind protection is awesome as is the waterproofing still, beading of water stops after about 45 min in these conditions but doesn’t come through, internal taped seams still as good as new. This is testament to the care taken on developing the garment add it clearly stands the test of time.

After riding home from work in a storm the clothes underneath the jacket was still dry. 10 out 10 for comfort and fit, I am not a big fan of black on a road but have to give this top marks for performance and delivery was great.
Thanks Galibier

Simply the best cycling jacket I’ve purchased. Its had daily use in the Welsh hills over the last few weeks, keeping me dry and comfortable, the breathability is excellent. This could be twice the price and I’d still give it 5 stars.

Couldn’t do without this jacket. I ride about 15-20 hrs a week all year round, all weathers…if it drops below freezing I still do my 4 hour rides but wheel out the mtb instead of the road bike. The jacket has seen all weathers and if I didn’t have this piece of kit there is no way I’d even think of going out in some of the atrocious weather we get. It keep you warm but doesn’t overheat if paired with the right layering. It also is the best thing I’ve found at keeping me dry. It looks good to boot and tight fitting but enough room for layering when needed. Galibier have been super quick on other items when I’ve needed to swop sizes, great service.

Went out on Monday and got caught in the most horrid of weathers, 30 mph +winds, heavy rain and to top it all hail stones. Was wearing my newly purchased jacket and all I need to say is wow…!! I have never returned from a 60k ride where I have felt completely comfortable and dry(top half at least). I would seriously recommend this as a necessary purchase to anyone looking for a serious bit of kit and the price makes it a no brainier….

Best rain jacket I have ever used. First jacket I have used that I have not felt like I’m boiling in a bag. Did a hilly 70 miler in the rain last weekend and never felt over cooked once.
Great fit and very handy zipper at rear for getting into jersey pockets.
Long sleeve base layer and short sleeve jersey is all you need for underneath.
Highly recommended

Now spring is here I thought I would add a longer term review.
This jacket is a superb piece of kit. It has seen me through a typically cornish winter, with 50 types of rain. Warm drizzle, cold mizzle, Atlantic gales and spring breezes. Full gas, endurance, rolled into the jersey when the sun shows midway. My tourmalet has been with me through it all, and has performed in it all.
Starting with my tourmalet, I look out the window and decide what is going under it. Baselayer only when going hard, long sleeve jersey when it is really cold, short sleeve when I’m feeling optimistic. All the while I look stylish and feel comfortable.
Thanks for all of the comfortable winter miles!

This is a quality piece of kit. Have worn this all winter with just a base layer and jersey underneath and it has been superb. Cannot rate this jacket highly enough, superb piece of kit

The Team at Galibier are missing a big plug here, not only is this one of the best waterproof jackets around, also cannot be beaten as a wind stopper, this comes directly from being worn extensively throughout the Scottish winter with a base layer and long sleeved Jersey, nothing else required, has made my winter jacket redundant!!!!!!!

Immense. My best piece of kit.
Frank Shields –
Great jacket, keeps you completely protected from the rain and perfect for the back pocket.

Have worn this jacket 4 or 5 times in Dec in west kerry in driving rain and wind. It’s the best piece of kit I have had in years. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Excellent quality and fit. Keeps the wind and water out without becoming a boil in the bag affair. Very light and can fold up easily into a rear pocket. Only grumble is the lack of zip pulls, so makes using the zip(s) a bit fiddly with padded winter gloves on…solution…just add zip pulls from an old pair of Madison MTB shorts…upcycling at it’s most useful. Next stop the Colombiere…just as well I have another set of zip pulls to add to this…when it arrives… Galibier goes from strength to strength…

I’m really pleased with this jacket. It’s stylish, fits very well and little details like the double cuff and rear zip for access to jersey pockets are very well thought out. Rain protection is very good and I can fold it down for storage in my jersey pocket.

Many thanks for the size exchange. The medium fits like a glove. Many thanks. Dave

Never written a review before. Unreal jacket. Just back from a ride and got caught for the last hour in a storm. This works! And no soaking clothes so it is breathable. Very impressed Galibier .
