Designed specifically for gravel or mountain biking, the Barrier 3 overshoes offer the warmth of neoprene combined with the durability needed for cycling. Neoprene, as warm as it is, isn’t suitable for direct ground contact. Hence, we crafted our overshoes with a robust 4mm neoprene upper paired with a kevlar reinforced sole, ensuring longevity for rides but not for walks.
Taking inspiration from an existing factory design, we enhanced it for improved stretch, fit, and comfort. By introducing a resilient YKK zip and lowering the cuff, we’ve ensured adaptability for varied terrains. After production, the overshoes undergo a dual rubber dip, fortifying the toe region against common abrasions. This rubberized toe also offers grip when in contact with the ground, enhancing safety.
Keep in mind, while these overshoes are designed for protection while cycling, they aren’t hiking boots. The added rubber protection is primarily for stability on surfaces like stone walls or cafe floors, not for extended walking.
Visually, the zip is accentuated with 3M reflective trim, ensuring visibility during darker rides. Our signature logo is subtly placed on the outside, given the rubber’s reduced thickness on the crank side to minimize rubbing. For ease of wear, we’ve integrated Velcro heel tabs on both sides. Thanks to the neoprene build and welded seams, these overshoes fend off cold and wind effectively. However, given the inherent design of overshoes, they aren’t entirely waterproof in practical use.
While they fit road shoes, there might be limited clearance for some cleat positions. They are specifically designed for left and right feet, with the logo facing outward.

Barrier 3 Overshoe is the best overshoe I have used for off-road/ mountain bike shoes. They are warm down to near freezing temps in the NorthEast, United States and have an excellent fit (size 42 euro Shimano mountain bike XC7 shoes)-size large overshoe fits very nicely-with some care and taking time to fit them properly. The overshoe deals with light rain and wet roads very well and cleans up easily. Robust, solid craftsmanship!

Tolle Überschuhe, besonders mit dem Gummiüberzug an der Spitze!
Ich hätte sie aber gerne etwas höher, daher kann ich nicht verstehen, warum man den cuff niedriger gemacht hat.

Got two of these, one for my wife and the other for my teenage son. Both of them have cold toes and these over shoes are the first theyve had that have kept them toasty
The quality also looks good.

Waterproof, warm, robust and the first overshoes I’ve found that fit Mtd shoes nicely

Excellent for warmth, I have used last few weeks between 2-6 degrees and did not notice feet at all, great sign. Also means not overly warm, which is an important bonus. In addition great design with the strengthened toes and heel points. Big warning though, the sizing seems very optimistic – I needed a large for my ‘medium’ size 42 SPD shoes, and even the large overshoes need a good bit of wrestling/pulling to get over my shoes. Once on a very snug fit and beginning to flex with time. Also have to be careful to pull bottom strap back to make sure cleats line up in the front hole, would suggest Galibier move the strap back 1 cm to avoid any clash with the cleats.

5 hours! I had warm feet for 5 hours in the mountains, in winter.
Highly recommend, Wearing well after 3 months heavy use.

I went up a size to an XL for my size 44 Shimano MT3 shoes but they were still a very tight fit. The deal breaker though was that the hole on the underneath wasn’t big enough to clear my cleats.
These would probably work better if you have more race-oriented shoes.

After starting gravel biking in Oct, I’ve been destroying old overshoes in the muddy conditions over winter, so luckily after some nudging, these turned up at Christmas.
I wear 44 and L fits perfectly. Tough reinforcements are stopping the overshoe from disintegrating like 3 other pairs, they stay in place and don’t interfere with the cleats, easy on/off, keep feet warm.
More than I’ve paid for overshoes, but the difference in quality is blatant.

I bought these for mountain biking, predominantly in the south Cotswold gloop. I wear size 46 Shimano SPDs and the XL overshoes fit well. Nice and tight but the holes underneath line up well with the cleat and edge of the shoes.
These have kept my shoes clean and dry during muddy rides although I haven’t yet tested them in a downpour. My feet as a result were nice and warm despite temperatures ranging from freezing to 3 degrees.
Good value for money in my opinion – another great product and a fantastic price from Galibier.
