Built with a light and free moving 3-layer membrane, which has good elasticity allowing it to be easily carried on long-distance routes or bikepacking. This evolution of our rain protection features a new dual waistband with a rear splash guard which is held in place by a flush silicone gripper. To reinforce its water resistance, the front zipper uses the YKK Vislon® Aquaguard® model, ensuring total watertightness. Low profile cuffs to integrate with any glove gauntlet and a high collar for superior protection. A shoulder line vent works in tandem with the fabric and front zip, to regulate temperature when the watts are high into the headwinds or mountains. The material is rustle-free for a quiet ride and is lightweight enough to allow the jacket to be rolled up and stuffed into a rear jersey pocket when not needed. 100% taped seams completely shut out the heaviest rain, and the aerodynamic fit cuts wind resistance but gives enough room underneath for insulating layers in cold weather.

ShieldPLUS 3-layer membrane designed for demanding cycles. Lightweight and effective all-weather protection. The fabric blocks droplets of a certain size from passing through the fabric, but allows smaller vapour molecules to pass through. Raindrops can’t pass thru the fabric, but sweat and excess heat can escape. Producing optimal breathability and sweat evacuation. Water column of 10,000 mm and breathability of 10,000 g/m2/24h.
Care Instructions: Machine wash on a cold, delicate cycle. Do not bleach. Avoid ironing and dry cleaning.

Amazing rain jacket. Boring stuff first, I’m 5’9″ 95kg And went with the XXL (as I have with the wind jacket and gillet). This is a good fit for my build and I like the option for space underneath to layer up. I have tested this several times and it’s fantastic. Apologies to other cycling clothes manufacturers as you have lost me to Galibier , superb performance and in my opinion outdoes anything I have had from Altura or Gore Bike Wear. Kept me super dry I. North East wind and Rain along the coast and River Tyne estuary. This coat packs down perfectly into my 1.2l front bag no bother. The venting on the rear helps , but I run hot and the only other thing that would make this coat legendary for me would be put zips. The build is great , nice high Viz colour for riding on roads too. I don’t use rear pockets when I ride , but it easily fits in my XL phone. Rear flap.is really long and does not budge once it’s in place! Cuffs are nice and low profile and easily let’s me get to my watch if I need it. In this day and age of ridiculous price hikes on most things, this is a very very good quality coat, sensible price point too. I am not a slim rider so I would say XXL is great sizing and gives me room for layers when the winter hits.

Got mine yesterday and didn’t take long for me to test it against an east wind and rain coming in off the North Sea near St Andrews in Scotland.
An hours spin in heavy rain, 8deg, easterly wind – my ultra rain jacket was perfect!!
Better than other brands I have with Gore-Tex, breathed really well with the clever back vents helping and the rear zipped pocket kept my phone dry and safe.
Lovely soft feel to the fabric and the stretchy cuffs and rear flap are fantastic too.
I’m not quite at my racing snake weight yet, only about 20kg to go
I’m 5’10” and 95kg and bought XXL which gives me space for a couple of layers underneath, I’d say it sizes up in line with other Galibier products
Would I buy again?
Yes for sure when I get closer to my racing weight
